IBM® Rational® ClearCase® is the industry-leading software configuration management (SCM) solution that provides sophisticated version control, workspace management, parallel development support and build auditing to improve productivity. It is typical for developers using IBM Rational ClearCase to be geographically distributed, working remotely either in small branch offices or from home. IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) allows remote developers to connect to distributed ClearCase databases and perform all SCM related operations remotely; however, WAN latency can slow application response time when performing operations that modify and transfer files across the WAN. Certeon Performance

Performance tests performed by Certeon, demonstrated as much as a 93% improvement in CCRC response time over the WAN. Illustrated (right) are the results of the CCRC HTTPS Check-in and Check-out response time testing for a 10MB Doc file. The results with Certeon's aCelera showed a reduction in response time from 158 to 13 seconds for Check-in and from 112 to 8 seconds for Check-out.
